Crazy - Cyn recommended the Genesis 1588 and I like it very much. I have great hatches in it. I bought it through "Incubator Warehouse". It was the cheapest I could find. I will say the turner had a broken row and I was desperate with eggs so I had to use it. Still it keeps me from hatching another 7 chicks, which I would. I did have a problem with it making a funny sound and no problem getting a replacement part. Though to be honest I never switched them out. It's still working fine. It does whine but being in my office it's not a major problem. Ask for Randy Pryor, nice guy to work with.

I think all incubators have their quirks and you have to learn and develop your technique. I do get eggs that hatch early and some later. Bantams usually hatch early.

Nella - get that tooth taken care of. I hope your bunny show went well.

When Chris was here between assignments during the summer, he did take video of my chickens and one baby hatching. That was a new experience for him and he really loved watching the chick zip out of the egg. The Republic of Georgia is very poor-he lived with a host family there. In Korea, he has his own studio apt provided, much more disciplined environment and better pay, but both places will enrich his life experience.

Mrs. Kathy I got a hold to Billy and he said he went through thousands of results on the F2 cross on Henks kippenjungle calculator and he said all the blacks came up to be females now remember this is based on %(prercentages) and there can always be a crop-out unexpected, esp in figuring genetics(chicken genetics). The calculator only list them as solid black it does not show leakage which is what the red in the neck and chest area is called, just the same as the straw colored neck(hackles) showing up on the F1 males it only calls them black/barred. See it doesn't mention leakage on them either, pretty deep subject really something only my bro and few others would be so interested in to delve that deep. Me, I like the stuff, but don't have or won't spend the time digging for, (one reason I wasn't very studious in school

just got the basics down and carried on) shameful huh?

BTW the black chick still looks sorta pulletish to me still yet, time will definitely tell.
