Well they came this morning and most of them doa. There were 7 marans and 3 sfh's, out of 8 marans and 12 sfhs. I won't post pics. There are two I'm trying to wean back from the brink, but it doesn't look good. The thing is ALL THE HOLES WERE TAPED OVER! OHHH what am I gonna do now?

I've e-mailed pics.

I've never had this happen before. I know the weather was not great but heck I've gotten chicks in February and they all were alive. With out taping over the darn holes!!!!!! I'm so mad I could lose my salvation. (swear) (not really it's just something I say).

Tim, I am so sorry. That is ridiculous, they need to breathe for heaven's sake geez. I cannot believe all of the holes were taped over how stupid! Poor things. As for your other post...I think we all have a child that we sit back and wonder where we failed because we are aghast that we raised them because they threw everything we taught them out of the window! They just cannot stand on their own two feet no matter what you do or tell them. Cut the umbilical and apron strings and let them fall...that is all we can do. Mine will be 28 YO in June and doing nothing and I mean nothing with his life....he is on his own, mama ain't helping or saving him and he is one confused boy! And shocked still after a year plus of me cutting him off.

He will learn, remember or fail but he will do it on his own now.

Yes! They all made it safe and sound. However, one was weak and just died. He had a heat pack in the box and also Gro-Gel. Nice packing with that. The heat pack was still warm.

D#$% , no heat pack or gro - gel. I wonder why not. It's got to be colder here and I'm almost certain most of the SFH's were not day olds.

I need to get something straightened out.

Apparently there WAS gro gel and a heat pack in the box. I just am not experienced in these things and didn't see it.

What's more I was not nor am I blaming the shipper. These chicks should have been here yesterday by noon. They were shipped just fine.

As for the holes, I've since been informed that the holes would not present a problem. Which I figured when I saw the box since all the sides along the top were not taped, but can't understand why many were dead.

Part of the reason I like BYC is because it puts me in contact with experienced people.

This is the only the third time I've received chicks.
