Evening all

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers for Colby. As of right now here's what we know

He has been having severe headaches non stop for about three weeks and the MRI yesterday indicated a 1" x 2" (approx) cyst on the left side of his brain, between the brain tissue and his skull. Pediatrician is pretty sure it is the source of the headache. He is very sure it is NOT a tumor, not cancerous, so we are very grateful. We are awaiting an appointment with the neuro-surgeon who will be letting us know what the next steps will be. Initially, the 1st apptmt we could get was March 19. Pediatrician is working to see if we can get that moved up.

IF surgery is necessary, Dr says that it is a "pretty simple" as far as brain surgery goes and the cyst should be easily removed. He thinks that initially the neuro - Dr will probably try meds to shrink it first before trying surgery.

SOOOOO, that's it for now

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers

Scott

Scott, I know thats the "good news, bad news" type of story, but the good news is really really good! It could have been so much worse....

Im so glad there will be a great resolution to this. Poor Colby...but he'll have a great scar to show everyone!

All things considered, Scott, that's about the best news I've heard today. Continued prayers for more good news. Please keep us posted.

LadyHawk, thank you for the links. I went looking shortly after I posted that request this morning and found the absorbing kind for $3.79 each. They were described as extra fine, with the needle attached, so I went ahead and ordered a half dozen of them. One just never knows when one might need them.

Gee Kathy, I wish I'd known about the doctors just throwing out the expired ones before I'd ordered new ones. I'm sure I could have gotten my doctor to toss me a few. He loves the girls and their eggs and would likely do anything to assure their continued supply! ;)

I think my DH deserves an award of some kind. He has been doing a wonderful job taking care of the chickens for me. Just a little while ago he asked me if I had any grit to give the chickens. [I actually thought he was asking if I had any more grits] I just love that man!

Ah, man, I have to decide which eggs to remove from the collection. My turner holds 42 and I have 45. Decisions, decisions. Guess I could put extras on the side and hand turn until first candling when I'm sure I'll be removing a few. Hmm.

LH, are you sure you want more politicians in the world? I have two June eggs and three Maretta eggs. I really want Maretta's in there after Wynette hatched a couple of blue pea combed chicks from hers-you know how I love my blue chickens! They'll be blue barred if they come out blue, like my Riley.

BTW, there are 5 of Shadow's in there and 13 D'Anvers. I think I need only 3 D'Anver pullets out of them because my main goal are porcelains eventually. Don't want to overcrowd the coop.

Scott , I'm glad to hear some good news. Miracles can happen. Have a friend who was scheduled for surgery only to find the tumor was gone when the time came. Have another who was told their DD would not be able to run with out surgery on her foot. They brought her up front for prayer and she's now running up and down the aisles. Be encouraged.
