Yes! Rain is on the way!

Alexander is fine, still looking off to the west and crowing, like he expects to hear his friends, but I threw him a handful of scratch, and he instinctively tried to call women to him, which I thought was pretty precious. He and Ultrasuede are giving each other the hairy eyeball through the fencing- and Alexander is ruffling up. No, I do not have them 30 yards apart, my set up doesn't allow for proper quarantine yet, but Kathy just had her whole flock tested for everything on the face of the earth, so unless he picked up something in a week, I think we are fine with him where he is for now. He can't make contact, so that is at least good. The Del girls went racing out of the coop to wink at him before they settled in to breakfast.

Ah yes I know all about the draw back. I have done this to horses, cattle and various other animals, including chickens and my backside more times than I can count. Why? I hate going to the doctor, paying him $65, him giving a prescription $12 to take for 10 days and I feel miserable 8 of those days. when I, having no adverse reaction to pencillin, can buy it in the same form as given to humans, adjust the dosage, take three or 4 shots and be done with it. And it only cost me 9.99

Honestly, I do a draw back on any injections given to horses etc and myself. Why risk it right?

The only adverse part to it....1 reaching around behind yourself to hit your butt and two sitting down afterwards. hahahaha

Okay, sounds like you know what your doing. I know my horses get seriously sore in their necks when I give them a couple of shots, so how do you do, uh, well, like sitting down afterwards? Gotta be sore!

Ill have to remember that, much cheaper than going to the Dr. What size needle do you use, please dont say 18 guage. Whats the people dosage?

Oh good grief! Shades of my Denny! Always fixing something. Can't sit still for a minute.

Not that I'm complaining mind you! I'll take my busy bee husband over some of those slouch in the couch, watch sports all Saturday and Sunday, never get a thing done around the house, kind of husbands. I rather like the fact that Denny can't sit still for a moment. It makes it very easy to get him out from under foot when I'm working on something. He's already in motion. All I have to do is give greater direction to that motion!

And don't you just love a man who knows how to use a toilet brush??!!!

I'm still not sure of what my day is going to consist of today. Still waking up, and oh so frustratingly slowly. It's what I get for staying up till way past 2:00AM, talking on the phone with my mom!

When will I ever learn?

Cyn, I went by (stitch in time) today and it appears empty. Sew creative is still here and there is a new one in the new antiques mall. I have not been in it so I don't know if it would be worth seeing. Sew creative has a lot of fabrics. It sometimes gives classes. I wish you both could come and us meet up for lunch , my treat. Love Gloria Jean

Sorry I thought I had labeled them clear enough. Nick is on the left and Georgia boy is on the right. Georgia boy had the best comb but I think Nick has the best type. I could be wrong. I put them side by side so you could compare the two.

20 gauge 1cc 1 time per day

I try to go higher up so when I sit it is not too bad. LOL And don't laugh but if you rub the injection site really firmly in a circular motion for a minute or so after the shot, it is not as sore. It spread the medication out into the muscle better too.

20 gauge....yikes.....at least it shouldnt take that long to push 1 cc thru that needle. Great money saver, tho! Nuthin wrong with rubbin the old behind to get that medicine where it needs to go. Thats still a pretty hefty needle for tender bee-hinds.

I have done a 22 gauge and it goes through but it is soooo slow...your butt starts to feel frozen. The recommendation is taking no more than 4 days in a sequence. Also remember I am only 94 lbs.
