I looked at my 4 teenage Silkies today (2 buff and 2 black) and discovered 3 are female and 1 buff is a roo. YAY, I am sooo happy! Next sexing will be the 6 youngest ..... some day. I really need to get the scissors out there and do some trimming. They have such huge crests and beards, really .... really, they can hardly see at all. Yes, I need to get that done tomorrow. By the way, Nella, do you want some of my Silkie chicks? I have a few in the bator.

Who else wants chicks? Come on, stand up and be counted now!​

Just emailed my info to the lady who is coming to pick out hens this weekend. Annnnnnd a BYCer an hour east of here might want some hens also! And they just happen to have barn kitties they are giving away. Have I mentioned my horrible mouse troubles? have I? They are EVERYWHERE.....two ran out from under the feeder tonight when I went out. Saw 1 last night. Saw 1 the night before. Nasty little creatures. They have taken over the garage/coop area! Need barn cats!

How can I pass up chicken friendly mouse killers?
