Lockdown tomorrow!

I have to laugh got a call from my friend last night - you would have thought he won the lottery - he loves my Delaware hen Bubble and wanted a Bubble egg - well the first bubble baby has arrived - an egg i gave him that he put under his broody hen . So the first Delaware - cochin cross has hatched. He realyl wants to have delaware marked cochins lol . The chick is white with black spots all over it - he said it almost looks polka spotted!

LOL Knox I bet that is a cute chick.

Nugget is definitely going broody, but she isn't quite ready to sit tight yet. She laid an egg today and she is flaring up and screeching at me, not the usual sweet-as-pie Nuggs. I bet she'll walk onto a nest at roost time either tonight or tomorrow and stay. Emily is doing really well with her six eggs so far, though she isn't drinking enough to suit me.

That makes two of us. It got warm, now if it would dry up so I can get some work done. Looks like more rain is on the way. I think I'll design a coop that looks like and Ark. Of course it's to wet to build it.

Hey, that is a great idea! I think we should all do that ..... be prepared for the next flood and we can just float away with our chickens in tow!

I just opened up most of the pens today to let the chickens out. Their runs are so muddy, I wanted them to get out onto the grassy areas.

Storms are coming in tonight, yet again, complete with dire warnings about hail and tornadoes.

At least the chicks out in the coop are three weeks old now and most of them (except the BRs, of course, Kathy) are pretty well feathered out in the wing areas and some in the hackles, back so if we lose power again, they should be warm enough. You can see some of them here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=6257370#p6257370
