Society for Delaware World Domination, though you wouldn't know it from all the other breeds that get posted on here. This is my card. I went to a Lavender Festival today and an artist was there who paints water colors and had one of chickens and I got to talking and gave her my card. She asked if she could paint my Nick who is one the card. I will have to order more with my e-mail address on them. Of course I'll keep Nick on them. He and Uncle George my other roo got frost bit last year and their combs don't look very good now.

Well, Tim, this is the SDWD thread in "Random Ramblings", where all the SDWD members "chat." The topic of strictly Delawares is on the Delaware thread. Here we chat about anything and everything.

I like your card. Having your email address on it is a good idea, too.

Kathy, congrats on getting the second one!!!

They're nothing but a bunch of overgrown rodents, if ya ask me!

And a dang scary creature when you consider the incidence of rabies that they can carry!

Darn glad y'all got him/her.

And yes, by all means, send those ladies to me next year! I'd be happy and honored to have them! So would Chief!

That would free up three or four of my other girls to go to my other boys!

Jeeze! You could make at least three beautiful boys as happy as pigs in puddles in one fell swoop there Kathy!

Such a bargain, huh?!?!

Tim!

You twit! You're giving away our best secrets!! Stop that, or I'll be forced to tie you down and cover you in Silkies! Without your special head gear!

Cyn, love your little Delawegger boy. Wish I had room for him and a way to get him here. But with a grand total of six boys under two roofs right now....

I think Denny would eat the next roo that shows up here!

Good for you! Glad you are getting them! I don't feel bad about killing them darn buggers at all. Course, I don't do it; Cody does. I am too afraid to even go look.

#3 was in a trap this morning. That is 3 coons in 2 days. I will keep the traps set.

Yes dear I am aware of that, but please allow my the promotion of the breed, where ever I can.

I know about the other thread but Lord have mercy I can't follow them all. BYC is just chocked full of stuff and one has to be selective. Unfortunately for you I've selected this thread to follow.

I recently received an e-mail to ship eggs to the UK and had to post for information about it. I may have to increase my flock to 50 layers if I'm to be able to respond to all requests for eggs or chicks. Which mean either a bigger coop or coops or some breed has to go. Right now they are molting and I have no idea why. Could it be an age thing? These girls were hatched in Dec. and just started laying. Is molting associated with age or is it a seasonal thing. I guess I need to research this molt thing a little more.

Now I'd like to know what type of trap your using. Last spring i saw a coon walking on the ice near the creek that borders my property. Also what type of gun. Nasty critters those coons. I'm glad your getting them and keep up the good work. At the rate your going you should have enough for a coat in no time.
