I need several of those double brooders 3' x 5' each to house 1 trio of porcelain d'uccles, 1 trio of project d'uccle, 1 mixed bantam trio (Napoleon and his 2 OEGB girls) plus all the silkies need things too.

Nella I want to use 2x4s for the frame though to make them tougher and less likely to get bumped and such....is that possible?

Anything is possible, it'll just make it heavier and more expensive. But whatever floats your boat! LOL

My brooder shed that I call 4x6 is actually closer to 3.5 x 5.5.......It's a great size, although you can't reach to the back so if the bird doesn't want to be caught, you have to get creative. And I'm taller than you and probably have longer arms! I just use a board or net or whatever as an extension of my arm and scoop them towards the front.

I was thinking that using 2x4s for the legs would make it a bit sturdier.....and I want is 3' deep and 5' wide, floor space so I can use those peel and stick tiles in there for easier cleaning...they could run but they could not hide. hahahaha

Oh and I need two duck houses/pens etc. One for the 5 ancona and one for the 4 GWH

No, it is still sitting here looking exactly the same as before. We could very easily build those. We could make a bunch of them if we had an assembly line way of doing it. One person cutting plywood, one person cutting and attaching hardware cloth, one person building frames......

Anyone here good at making roofs? I"M NOT.

*raises hand slowly* I grew up in a family roofing business but my specialty was laying spanish tile and the coop is not getting a spanish tile roof. so we need to get Scott and DH to do it.
