Yeah, here too! Hearing that thunder made me so hopeful too.

Have I told you lately how much I LOVE these Project birds? Huh, have I told you all? OMG, they are so gorgeous. I can just "see" the Delaware in them. They are sweet and personable, and I love how they are turning out. I am so excited that I am getting eggs from them now. I can hardly contain my excitement, but I will wait until August before I begin incubating their eggs. Hoping to butcher a pen full of birds soon, which will make room for more. Right? Yeah, that'll work.

The rooster has even been named! This is George! I really need to get some better pictures of the chunky girls, too.

Gotta share my FIRST Columbian Rock pullet from the Canadian trio.

She will be 7 months old Aug 4, and is still not laying yet. She is the ONLY pullet from my first hatch back in January....it was 11 cockerels and 1 pullet. Some luck, huh??!!

Fortunately, I have 18+/- females in groups younger than her that are still "growing up"

Still praying for rain here. Not too hot, but not a single drop as of yet

Stay cool

We were supposed to get rain all weekend, did not get any but that is ok since I am now scared of thunderstorms. We have been getting unusually hot weather though.

Kathy, I am excited for you. I will be watching to see how your project goes. Look at this boy that came with the last group of chicks you sent. He is already chunky at 7 & 1/2 weeks old. He was the only boy [so far] out of the 6 delawares.

Hi everyone- Just thought I'd stop by for a second; hope that you're all doing well! Everything's great here. Jess and Cassidy are laying. And I'm keeping my chickens to four, period. I really am stupid for thinking I could get so many more!
