Well who says you
have to put them in the freezer, Laura!
I have a grand total of SIX boys now....grouped together, I refer to them as "My Boys" too. They ain't headed for the freezer! Why should yours? There's not a thing wrong with having a separate yard of boys. Especially when they grow up together and all get along with each other. I love "My Boys"!
I wouldn't trade them for the world!
Kathy, those little grow outs are looking soooo sweet! I love the way they can all but disappear in the tall grass and trees!
And OMG! Look at Kayson!! Growing like a weed!
Jeff, your friend certainly has a talented brush there! I wonder if she'd be interested in doing the same for me if I sent her a few dozen eggs and the raw materials for a sign!?!
Now, for your viewing pleasure, how about a few pictures from the "Blue Feather Farm"? Teehee!
Here's the east side of the house, in which we've completed the framing of the covered porch. We still have finishing work to do: i.e. deck boards, roofing, rails and pickets and steps.
The west side of the house still looks like this:
And since this IS the SDWD, I simply must include a few pics of my little Del babies. Here they are at exactly 13 weeks of age.
First up, Emilio, my sweeter than apple pie little guy!
If anyone can come up with a more suitable name for Emilio, I'd be very happy to hear it. HE was supposed to be a SHE, and as such, I had named HER Amelia. Hence the name Emilio when it became apparent that SHE is in fact a HE!
Don't get me wrong. I love this little goober to pieces. Wild horses couldn't drag him away from me. It's just that I paid for, and was expecting, a GIRL! The last thing I needed was another boy!
Oh well, that's life!
This is one of his two girlfriends, Madison, sharing in a lap cuddle session:
Here's a little bit better look at Madison:
And this is sweet little Eleanore:
She's just a little angel! She sort of plays "Mother" to the other two, even though she's the same age. When I go to tuck everyone in and lock them up for the night, Emilio and Madison are almost always nestled under poor little Eleanore!
I keep telling those two, "Look, she ain't your mother, and she's barely bigger than either of you! Give her a break and let her lay down for the night!"
And as you can see from this pictures, she is, indeed, just slightly bigger than Madison:
And after a long photo shoot session, nothing sounds better to these little hooligans than a quick nap in the doorway of the coop!
