I thought I might be the first one up but apparently someone was earlier than me. Anyhow this is the song I used to sing to the kids when I got them up for school. They now sing it to theirs. However my DD in TX would sing it to her students.

Well I hope you have a nice day,

Rancher

Serrin - no snow here thank the good lord.

Bad weekend - grrrr- i swear . My sheep - who i adored died. I swear - dumb ole me thinking that goats and sheep are hardy farm animals and you just put them in the pasture and they live to a ripe ole age. No the shots - wormings - special diet needs. She started looking sick Friday - snotty nose sort of - gave her antibiotics like crazy - was not eating . Looked better satruday - came back from a rabbit show yesterday and i went to check her . She was way at the bacck of the pasture down. I went out there - it was like she was paralyzed - her eyes were moving but she coudnt move her body .I dont get it. And there was this sweaty "froth" in her arm pits. I dont get it ...went thru all my sheep books cant figure it out Had to put her down . And let me tell you as i was burying the goats - her "sisters" were flipping out almost screaming. It brought tears to my eyes .

On a different note i have the neatest blue Faverolle rooster now. I opened their coop for the first time saturday to let them free range.( just got him at the Ohio nationals) Well i have a barn cat named buddy - who well thinks he is a chicken - he loves them and prefers to be with them more than people or other cats! Well i heard a big ruckus - freaked out - ran to their coop. There Stands Buddy ( fluffed up and hissing ) and Stetson( blue rooster) right in the doorway of the coop with a tom cat i have never seen before three feet from the door of the coop....hens huddled back in th e corner of the coop -. Minute i got there both buddy and stetson ran after the cat chasing him off the property and strutted back togetther. I swear id they could have high fived each other they would have! LOVED it

Here was lori - with lil arthur
She was the most mellow sweet sheep - God i loved her - ok dangit here i am tattooed tough guy crying at work

Oh Knox I am so so sorry. I had goats and a sheep as a kid and a wild turkey that I adored. When they died I was a heartbroken mess so I understand darling. Give a call to a State Vet and talk about the symptoms and such and see if he can give you some ideas about what it was.

Zena and her brothers as well as the OEs and 2 Orloff babies spent the night in the bantam coop. They loved having all the extra room and did really well. Pics and video will be posted later.

Knox so sorry to hear about lori!!! Tattoos don't make you a man the heart that's showing does!

Well feeling better today able to hack some gunk up, ugh Dr appt this afternoon.

Well I didnt share this earlier but I lost my Lav chick earlier in the week. I noticed it was growing really rapidly compared to the chicks that were days older. I'm thinking a chromosome issue. Just got that feeling. The rest are doing great and growing at a normal pace.

Amy you and only you will know when the right time to get that gorilla off your back. I'm just done with it. They say it gives you crazy dreams well let me tell ya I have them anyway. I wake myself up having conversations with whom who knows, lol. I figured up I will be saving $ 424.00/month that adds up to little over $5000.00/year. Thats amazing to me. Plus better health. I used smoking as a crutch and then it just took over.

Well ended up only getting two sheep sheared yesterday. I felt like death but I had promised to help. Would've got the rest done but my friend misplaced her sheep blankets. Lambing season is just around the corner so I figure she will be asking me to help with that. I was on call a few years ago. I was lambing and sewing up prolapses, raised a lamb in my livingroom. It can be a real mess, lol

As for the morning song mom always sang "Good mornin good mornin good mornin good mornin good mornin to you." Rise and shine it's getting up time. lol

Well i've rambled enough Good Day to All!!!!

Knox,
So sorry for your loss. Darn it! It sure is easy to get attached to our furry and feathered friends.

LadyHawk,
That's great! Gettin' them all moved into their new home has to be a good feeling! I'm so happy for you!

Brandon,
Sorry you lost the Lavender. I wonder why it was growing so fast.
Glad you are feeling better!

HI folks I'm home from school,

Ink- I'm sorry about the sheep. I was told here in NY that there was problems with sheep everywhere. I've considered getting a pair. Just cuz I like them and like to knit and all that. Lord knows it might be to much, unless by some miracle I can afford to hire help.

I wish I could take away your sorrow, dear friend. But, shed the tears for Lori. You do her honor in your grief for her passing. Animals touch our hearts in a way that mere humans cannot. Is it any wonder that there is such a huge void when they leave? Remember the good times you had in her company, Knox, and take some comfort in knowing that you gave her the best life possible.

Tim, that nap time sounds good! Scoot over and make room!
