Can I feed my chickens crushed sea shells (not Oyster shells) if I rinse them and crush them? I live in a town near the ocean and need to give my chickens calcium. If this is safe, I can get the shells from the beach for free.

That would work fine. Oyster, crab, shrimp, lobster, crawfish, or any other shell works well. The reason oyster shells are used is that they are so inexpensive to harvest and there are a tremendous number of them.
