1. Do they like to roost high off the ground?

2.What bird size do you compare them to...a pigeon, wild mallard, dove? I've seen weight but not size.

3. I have a large outdoor/indoor aviary that I bought the plans for and built a long time ago and wondered if they could be kept in it as it is taller than wide. It has a wire floor with a removable tray.
The size is around the size of a love seat but 6 ft high. *No measurements on me).


4. I'm thinking of just two chickens here a hen and rooster.

5.Any other breed that would be small and would do well in a cage like this?

Yes, at least mine would always occupy the highest roost available.

Thats a tough one, my show sebrights were between 8 and 9 inches tall(so about the hight of a big homing pigeon), the hatchery ones were at least an inch bigger and 200-300 grams heavier.

With chickens ground space is much more important then height, esspecially if its a permanent set-up. I dunno how big a love seat is, since I do not own one and I am pretty sure size depends upon brand..... 4ftX4ft would be the min amount of floor space I would give a pair of sebrights, esspecially since they are pretty active birds as well.
I personally have had all my sebright pairs/trios in 10ftx4ft aviaries(which they usually shared with a pair of pigeons or doves to fill out the 6 feet of airspace that the sebrights don't use......

Sure, but be aware that, even though sebrights are small, those roos have a mighty loud and shrill voice.

Diamond doves and a few finches.​
