I have twelve 15 week old Light Brahma pullets as of 7/14 and looking for a Light Brahma cockerel to add to the flock preferably about the same age or size.

I live right outside Brunswick, MD which is located at the point where WV, VA, and MD meet. We have 12 acres and and since we're rural have no problems owning a roo.

I have found a Light Brahma breeder not far from me but would rather rescue one. I searched online for rescues around here but none seem to have any Light Brahma cockerels or roosters. I'd be willing to travel a few hours for the right cockerel.

Please let me know if you or someone you know have one needing a home. My girls aren't just chickens to me. They're part of the family and I literally spend hours a day sitting with them. He would be as cherished as my girls and most likely as spoiled as them too.

I'm going to try to bump this. Hopefully it will work.

BTW, the girls are 4.5 months now.

Hope you find one, I think my light Brahma may be a cockerel... But he is mine lol, I'm not sharing. Have you tried looking on facebook and Craigslist, and I forget the site, I will look it up... But basically breeders sell birds of all breeds and ages, I might get some rosecomb nankins from there. Another thing you can do is go to hatcherys, Myers and My Pet Chicken being my favorite because they tell you exactly when they are Avalible. Hope this helps☺ good luck!

Mabey you should wait for a little surprise cockerel to come along here on BYC. Or, try to find an extra cockerels that your neighbors may have, good luck, hope you find him☺

I looked on Craigslist. The closest one i found was 200 miles away. I was still willing to drive there but by the time I got in touch with the person advertising him, he had already found a home. The next closest one was in Tennessee. Definitely too far.

I found a breeder of Light Brahmas near me who had been doing it for 50 years. I was jumping for joy. Even if she didn't have any, I was sure she would happily give me an idea of where to go next so I went ahead and called her up explaining who I was and that I got her number from a Light Brahma breeder list. She paused, then coldly said, "We don't have any." That's all she said. I barely told her thank you before she hung up. Maybe she only likes to sell to people she knows or that they recommend and she wanted to make sure I never called her again. 🤷‍♀️ I can't find any other breeders near me.

As for Facebook, I haven't really been on it for quite a while and didn't even think of it. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to do that now

I've been looking for weeks. Those that want to rehome a Light Brahma cockerel are usually too far away for me to even consider it. I can't seem to find anyone in my area other than that breeder and you know how that went.
