Searching in a thread

Okay, Ive looked all over for this and havent seen anything. So Im sorry if this has been posted before. Is there a way to search through a certain thread for something?

For example:

I want to seach through the "Marans Thread for Posting Pics of Your Eggs, Chicks and Chickens" thread
BUT there are 688 pages!
So instead of having to go page by page by page to find what Im looking for

Is there a way to be able to seach in that thread only for either: a certain word(s), posters name, etc..?


Ive seen alot of threads where they have huge numbers of pages and it would be nice to be able to search through only that one thread. Im not sure if this would be possible to do, but I think this would be a great help for searching.

I think alot of people would love this too!

Unfortunately this software doesn't have that feature.

There are ways to use the built in forum search tool to really narrow down the results to almost get what you want.

Go here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/search.php
Put in as many keywords as you can that are in the post you are searching for.
Put in the poster name (if you happen to know it)
Select the "Forum" that the thread/topic is in (significantly limiting the results)
Select "Show results as" posts
You could sort by "Subject"

From there you should only get a page or two of results. You could then do CTRL F on your keyboard and further search within those results. Well, that's how I do it.

Okay thanks, I will have to try that. Has anyone thought about updating the search though?
