Have four 1 month old messy ducklings in the house. The Cayuga has one leg that tremors rapidly - We have niacin in the feed
What does it need Selenium or ?
Thanks
They are messy, aren’t they but there are things you can do to help with that that I’ve learned over the years.. use some puppy pee pads to line the bottom of the brooder and then put a little pine chip bedding over top of them and when it comes time to clean up, you roll them up and take them out.
Also use this kind of homemade water container so that they don’t splash all the water out and soak the whole place up

I start with holes small enough that they can’t fall inside of it just big enough for them to dunk their heads in and then I make the holes bigger as they grow

I’ve had ducklings with shaky legs and they need some extra niacin. The best you can use is liquid be complex that has 100 mg of niacinamide per one ML of the liquid and it doesn’t taste too terrible so they will need it up if you put some in a small dish of peas or mealworms. Try to make sure they get the full one ML every day.
Keep doing this until the leg shaking stops It took a few weeks for my little Drake to get his legs strong.
Also, for the whole group, you can add 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast per one cup of feed which will boost their niacin level levels also.
