I had 6 backyard chickens some years ago, but my neighbor complained about them getting in her yard. So, now I am looking for hens that don't like to travel around so much.
I was thinking Orpington, from my online research so far. I would also like an Easter egger.
I am only going to have 3, because that is the size my coop will shelter comfortably.
I am a retired woman, and not very handy. I do have a power drill which I haven't used much, & I can enlist help from male friends, once I decide exactly how I want to have their run.
I was a member here back when I raised my 6 hens from pullets, and I know there's a lot of practical knowledge here. I will try to post pictures of my back yard soon. It is a smallish suburban lot.
