I'm considering runners and Sebastopols in the spring. It looks like Holderreads will ship sexed pairs of goslings. If I get 4 should I get two pair or is that too many ganders? 3f and 1male is better, yes?

What part of "sexed pairs" didn't you understand? If you order 2 pairs that is what you will get, if you order one sexed pair and 2 other goslings you take your chances. Unless there has been a huge policy change they WILL NOT SEX OUT FEMALE BIRDS FOR AN ORDER.

After further reading of Holderreads website, you are correct. They will not sex out female birds for an order. Obviously if I had seen this earlier I wouldn't have asked the question. Thanks for being so polite.

Ganders will fight so having 2 ganders can mean extra pens and work.
1 male to 3 females if a good ratio if you can get that combo
eslewhere. DH isn't the only place you can get Sebastopols.
Day old white Sebastopol Geese can be sexed by color.
Geese are NOT monogomous and DO NOT need to be kept in pairs.

Thanks. Great website by the way. It seems you don't sex your goslings either :-(. I guess that's my issue. I'd like the 1 to 3 ratio but from better than hatchery stock....

Glad you enjoyed the website.

You could always buy a pair young adults of a known sex.
Good luck with whatever you end up doing.
