hey all just wondering if you guys do any thing special a month before the show season starts??? like special treats extra grain????

Just wanted to update. Sebastian is doing great and his wing feathers are starting to grow back. He is sassy as ever making sure EVERYONE knows he is the boss. I introduced him to Lilli and he didn't like her at first but he loves her now. Here are some pics; Sebastian stretching his wings Sebastian with our flock rooster Sir Giles (who is just as big as he is)

Just hatched out my first two Sebastopols this year. Anybody expecting to have hatching eggs available next spring?? I want to get a few more (I'm not sure if I have a pair or not)

It's too late to do anything for them nutrionally a month before a show. They need proper nutrition while their feathers are developing all through breeding season and the summer.

To get them ready for confinement, you can start putting them in cages or kennels for a bit so they get used to that. I don't hand feed my birds treats, but you could throw them treats to get them to come closer to you if they are fearful.

You can also just make sure they have clean water all the time to keep their feathers white and clean. I bathed my birds before I took them to Indy last year and put them in horse stalls on shavings before leaving and it did make a difference.
