Sebastopol Geese Thread !!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR PICS !!!!!!!!!!

Agreed!
And check their feet- I bought a trio of ganders from somebody that kept them in a muddy dog run and two of them had bumblefoot. It was a good month of intensive treatments, but they made it ok fortunately.
Nice orange bills and feet (when not setting), are a good way to be sure they aren't really deficient. The ones in the pic look good to me.
I love the way waterfowl are so hearty. Never had any problems with diseases, just predators.

Yes, I do believe that duck thinks she is a goose! I have one lonely drake who sneaks into the geese pen because he does not want to be alone. I lost his female to a darn hawk!!! I do not want anymore ducks at this time. Plus husband would have a hissy fit if I got any more ducks!

Do you have any trouble with your drake trying to mate your geese? I also have a lonely drake that hangs around with my geese- they get along great but he is now trying to mate the girls and I'm not sure what to do. I do not want any more ducks so I'm thinking about finding a home for him instead. I would rather keep him if possible but I do not want any gucks! Some says it's possible others say it's not...who to believe

I finally got around to taking a few pics..... I did find a pet home for one of the white ganders :) not pictured today. What color is the one with its back to the camera that looks like it should say..... See My Butt! Same Sebbie in the second pic also

What color were they parents Renee? It is a splash for sure. Need to know the parents to say for sure what color. Could be a dilute grey, blue or lavender depending on the parents...

We will never know... lol Vivi sent the two colored ones to me. Both are splash.. there is one with a single freckle of blue on his head and an area of blue/grey on his spinal area... The other one... looks lavender to me. there are some buff undertones.... Is that what a Lav is suppose to have??

With Lavender's in order to get them you have to breed two lavenders together. So would say more likely a dilute blue splash. I bred a solid lavender gander to our grey saddleback female and got blue females, white gander's and white goose. The Blue goose Celtic has.
With the splashes because of all the white in there it seems to dilute the blue some.
