Thank you crj.
Their beaks and feet can get washed out during production and the breeding season.
Keep in mind those pics were taken in December after they regrew their feathers
and recouperated from the breeding season.
I feed multi-flock pellet and whole oats.
Supplement with Calf Manna during the breeding season.
NO corn.
Lots of dandelion greens for goslings.
Apples free choice in the fall from our apple trees plus they get occasional treats of melon,
pumpkins and squash. They even loved baked squash or left over baked skins w/ pulp.
They have access to lush grass spring - fall and I'm a freak about lots of
fresh water daily
for bathing and drinking.
See my websites tip page for how I manage my waterfowl.
Americans were used to introduce solid colors such as buff, blue etc. to the breed but
Pomeranian's were used to create saddleback.
Hope this helps.
Yes, that helps a lot. A feed store has some crimped oats for 1/2 price which I would love to get for me geese and ducks if it's something they can eat. Any feed 1/2 price is always worth getting but I wanted to make sure it's something that would be good for them. You mentioned whole oats any difference between the two?
You can tell you spend a lot of time with your geese. They all look very happy. I have a pair and I just think they are a joy to have. Quite the conversationalist.......... lol. Is that a word? They had a chat with the neighbor who looked over the fence today. It was so cute. There names are Fred and Ginger and they are close to 6 months old. I also have a female American Buff and I think a female Super African and they are cool too and only 3 1/2 months old. I just love the personalities. A lot of my birds including the two young geese needed new homes and I was happy to ablige......
