I'm so glad you posted this. I am a huge fan of user reviews, and the only thing holding me back was the fact that I didn't know of anyone who has used it. I'm excited to hear back from him today!yes and the craftsmanship is top notch. Havent had to tweak it at all since turning it on
I'm biased..I'll take goslings anytime of the year!I haven't gotten any eggs here yet... but honestly I am glad.. the weather it crappy for baby geese.
I'm hoping to get my NPIP and AI testing done this fall after things calm down here. I'd sure be nice to be able to ship off any extra hatchlings, and juveniles that I end up not keeping.Just shipped 6 to Maine yesterday, arrived a-ok today.
glad we have a building for brooder stalls even though the munchkins arent sticking around for very long this year.
All the babies are doing good, the quail have feathers but are still so little i decided to let them keep the light for awhile. The first Sebastopol egg I put in the incubator was no good but so far the other six are fertile and growing.I hope you are all keeping your babies (hatched or not) warm! We had a windstorm yesterday as well, and my hubby got out the generator and set it all up for me. If you only have a few babies you stuff them in your shirt, but lots of babies and eggs wont fit. LOL!
Jen 85, are you babies okay now?
I candled my goose eggs and 4/8 are growing! The majority of my geese are first year layers, so there are lots of "pullet eggs". I talk to the eggs that are growing now, because they are like goslings already. YAY! I put 14 more eggs in too.
Spring is so much fun!
Quote: a couple of weeks normally
The reason I ask, is because the first two eggs Ashley (grey smooth goose) laid were both fertile...but it was only a couple weeks after I got them. She was with Trouble, and R.I.P. Cotton for several weeks before we got them moved into their current pairings. There could be a slight chance that Trouble or Cotton is the dad of her first two eggs. That would be wonderful!a couple of weeks normally
Lovely goose house, and lovely Sebs! They have two fenced in acres to play on during the day but at night I put them up. Thankfully that's where she decided to lay eggs. Everyone was telling me I would have to hunt for them everyday
. They are so much fun to watch! The gander (or ganders- the third one I am unsure on. No breeding or eggs) are standing guard and chasing everyone. My four year old nephew asked me nicely if I would please kill them for him lol. They haven't bit any kids, but I told them to stay away from the geese just in case.![]()
