Sebastopol Geese Thread !!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR PICS !!!!!!!!!!

Hello Kimberly,
You seem to be the right person to ask.
I have one Sebastopol gosling, Lonesome, who is white and I think a gander. Guessing by light grey saddle back and top hat?
He is 2 months old and I am wondering if he should be showing any fluffing out or does it take longer for their feathers to develop.
He is my first. The other egg didn't develop. Next year I will start earlier in the season to get eggs. Do you sell and ship eggs?
Thanks, seabass

Hello Millerchild,
I have my first Sebbie and that I hatched in my new incubator. The other egg didn't develop . He, I think, is 2 months old. I am wondering how to sex him and when do their feathers begin to fluff out? As of now there isn't any sign of the feathers curling?
Thanks,    seabass

Sexing is tricky and not recommend for novice owners with young birds. They will start to curl after their first molt which happens soon after they are completely feathered and again a few months later (once a year after that).

I have taken sime new pictures of my Sebastopol's. RURU Sebastopol's....

Hello everyone, I am getting my first pair of Sebastopol geese this week and I need to know EVERYTHING.
Feeding,
bedding,
can I house them on the floor of my HUGE coop at night?
Do they need specific waterer and feeder??

Do you have pics?

They need lots of grass. It shouldn't get very cold where you are to require an indoor coop.

If you want them to go in at night you will have to train them. They would much rather stay out if they are penned in a safe environment.

They need enough water to dip their whole face in to drink out of. A kiddie pool works great.

They can eat out of a flat rubber feeder like you feed grain to horses in.
