If you've joined Sebastopol Lover's forum we do have a genetics forum with information that might be able to help you,
plus we have members that are more knowledgeable than myself when it comes to mind numbing genetics...
not my forte...but Dave Holderread told me when you cross lavender x buff you get all blues that will carry the lavender gene.
Please feel free to post any questions on the Sebbie forum.

Thank you, but they aren't at thier "prettiest" right now as it is the end of the breeding season...they should be "pretty" in the fall after they molt out....they like to play in the puddles which I think is good for them, not necessarily for the feathers! They are only a year old as well so they should still get fuller next year....

They are also very sweet birds....when I sat still to take the pictures they all came over to see what I was doing and I had to keep backing up to try and get in range... Now I know how to get them to follow me in the night, get the camera out!

Anne

They have the prettiest blue eyes to boot! I tried to get an upclose shot to show the eyes, this is the best I could do...

Cottage Rose, Thanks, I think you've answered my question. I bought six goslings from Barb and have been trying to determine their color. We think the parents of the goslings could be "Spicie" (a lavendar saddleback) and "Cinnamon" (a buff saddleback). I've been watching their colors develop and thinking that they would be lavendar. However, it looks to me that they are blue. If Buff X Lavendar = Blue that would explain why all of my goslings look like they're blue.
