So I have 3 goose eggs that are on day 17. One has a formed air cell now the other 2 do not. I see movement in the one with the formed air cell however earlier I turned one of the other two eggs to the side thinking it had formed an air cell but I quickly realized it did not I saw the beak in the air cell getting more into the air cell as I tipped the egg. I realized this and fixed it back to an upright position but the chick pulled it’s beak down super quick and now i see no movement in the egg. Did I kill it? :(

Were these shipped eggs? And if so, how did the air cells look when you candled then upon arrival?

I had a similar experience with shipped goose eggs - the shipping stress left them with saddled air cells. They developed but failed to pip internally. 🙁

I think all 3 died. I don’t understand I’ve read article after article and I have tried with 3 different sets of eggs and all of them end up dying. Usually right before hatch.
I was looking into sebastapools and heard they have hatching trouble so you might want to look into issues with the breed. ask for breeder if they have heard of trouble from others.

Yes. They were all detached on arrival. So I just opened all of them. One of them was fully developed. One died very early on and the other looked full developed but way smaller than the other fully developed one. Legs were red still and feet were 1/3 the size of the other fully developed one but when I opened the egg I realized it was alive and it died in my hand. I don’t see how it was so much less developed than the other but had hair all over its body. It’s beak was messed up too like birth defect. I feel horrible but I know it wouldn’t have made it anyways. :(
