Hi, Sadly we lost our little Sebbie girl Agatha yesterday. We have 2 super africans which leaves Arthur on his own. Would it be better to try and get him an adult goose or would I be able to get him to accept goslings. I cant put him with the africans at the moment due to breeding season but they are next to each other.
Thank you

Thank you for a reply, will start looking for another sebbie female or at least some goslings to be introduced at a later date.

I remember some years back @Iain Utah had some African ganders who accepted her goslings probably not right at hatching but after they were older. Of course getting gosling unless sexed might not be such a good idea if you want him to have a mate.

Either way will work. Ganders love raising babies. I will set up pen for babies and bring adult in confined area away from others. I keep babies in pen separated from adult for 1-3 days. You can tell when adult has transitioned to protective parent. Then I free babies. I've done this quite a few times and never had a problem.
