They are all so beautiful. We want to get some eggs, but are waiting til the Spring. Any suggestion on who to get from. Also we will be building or diggin out a pond; so how deep and how big? I know that I have to have areas for my chickens to get out of. I have 3 acres. I am in the panhandle of Texas so at least 3ft deep to keep it from freezing thru. Should I place it under a tree or out in the open and plant grass/ plants? Any suggestions would be helpful. I am sure there is a web-site, book or post on here with all the answers, so please feel free to direct. Anyone with eggs this Spring...let me know. thanks BYCers

Thank you for your wonderful complement . I am not sure where to tell you to go for eggs. You can post a wanted add on the Sebastopol forum to. I just keep swimming pools filled with fresh water in the summer and as long as it is nice I keep them going . During the winter I use a tub they use for mortar , a heavier plastic , and that works great. They came from Home Depot.

Here are mine... Got them from Dorothy early last spring as goslings... We live in Harrisonville, MO... Got 4 of them... 1 was supose to be a buff but is a white with buff spots and both his parents were buff... 1 is a pretty gray female, then I got to smooth whites... If anyone is interested I'd trade my two whites, (1male 1 female), for a curly female of any color? Or I'm selling them on the auction as a pair for $100 very friendly. I'm also looking to buy some more curly Sebs so if you are near me in KS or MO let me know if you have any foe sale or trade.... Thanks, Kristina 816-293-5155

You know, Kristina, they have nice curl for being smooth breasted and just because they're smooth breasted doesn't mean they won't produce very nice curly breasted babies. I would give them a chance and try breeding them and see what you get from them. I have both smooth and curly breasted myself and at first I was going to sell my smoothies but then decided to keep them. I'm glad I did. I got some exquisite curly babies out of them.

But I must know are you selling some babies of them next year or any sebbie goslings for that matter?

There is a Buff Saddleback female and I did get a Gray split to Buff gander this year as well. She is also on the sebastopol forum to. I don't sell goslings but if I have some it is Usually late in the fall. If there is something specific you are interested in let me know. I do have lavender Saddlebacks to. The last photo of the white gander in the series of the pictures on this thread went to live in Florida with my friend Kim and he won Best Medium Goose in January over 57 geese . Congratulations to Kim and Claus . It was his first time out.
