I hatched out Seebies for the first time this year and the one little male is not growing. They are about 4-6 weeks old at this point and he is 1/3 the size of the others. Besides his size he is active, eats well, and seems healthy.

For you Sebastopol people: Is there a known issue with this in Seebies? Or is he an oddity?

I am keeping him with the younger goslings so he is on the top of the pecking order and gets first crack at the food and water but it hasn't made a difference in his growth rate.

I have heard of several of these this year-were your eggs shipped? I am wondering if there is over cooling or over heating, or some other damage that causes it.

Not to be too blunt but Runts happen. Often they die because they can't compete with their clutchmates. At this point it is doubtfull he will ever catch up, but to me a mini-seb would be a joy to see and to own.

No, the eggs were from a local sale and the others are all normal size (and most likely females judging from the grey coloring). I don't have an issue with him being small, you're right it will be kinda cute! :)
In raising dogs for years I have found that the runt often ends up the nicest (show wise) of the litter. I was just wondering if this was a known issue in Seebies so I would know in the future.

Thanks for the input!
