I grind up barley and steel cut oats and add it to organic cornmeal with a little brewers yeast. The greens are chard because it's too early for dandelions. I put a small amount of molasses in the water. I also offered hard boiled egg ground with the shell, but that's not a big favorite with geese. He really didn't need food yet, but he thought he did and has been
chowing down. I don't second guess babies! He should be a boy If my info on color sexing is correct. If he had a black bill he would have been a female and gray.
Yours is way darker than my two! I suspect mine are both boys, too but they are VERY light grey a lot more yellow on their heads. Both have pink feet & bills.
wow....i just wen tto the store and got fowl starter feed (non medicated)....do I have to have all that stuff....I don't even know what half that stuff is
btw: I was falling asleep with the baby in my neck...so boyfriend took over and I had to wake up and figure out how in the heck I am going to put this heat lamp up over the tub where she'll be staying...
I am also really worried...the dogs are way too interested.....makes me nervous....any suggestions >
Gray daddy/white mommy, all orange bills were boys and black bill was a girl last year. The colors don't follow the white to white breeding rules. He looks like a white female.

Yes, they need non-medicated waterfowl starter. Cost me almost $20!
I use hardware cloth shaped/bent over a big rubbermaid tote with pine shavings. I also use a 90 watt regular bulb because there is not enough clearance on my tubs for a heat lamp without having roast goose/chicken/duck beneath!
