Wow, aren't they pretty!!!!!! They are so dark also! Did they hatch black with the yellow or gold face? Interesting because all pics that I have seen of Sebright chicks look just like yours! Maybe the ones here in Oz are slightly different? Keep me posted as they grow and I will take some updated pics of my 5. My breeder said that young birds almost always have smudging and speckling on the feather, and don't look like 'Sebrights' until fully mature.... So we shall see!

If they are mixed gold and silver, they will have a lot of black in the gold and silver color, they will not look nearly as nice as pure colored ones.

May I ask how old your sebright chicks are?
I have one gold sebright and I was told she was a week old when I got her. But I think she must be older cause she is definitely
more feathered out and bigger than yours.

When crossing gold & silver birds you get the following :-
The pullets will be the same colour as the father
The cockerels will have both gold and silver, known as splits, and will not breed true.
So if your cockerel was gold the mating would produce gold pullets & split cockerels.
These cockerels are not Cream. Cream is made by adding Ig, the Inhibitor of Gold, to a golden bird.
In Australia only Gold & Silver Sebrights are recognised.
The Ig gene has never been found in Australia. Both Chamois (Gold with Dominant White) & Lavender laced Isabella are being worked on. Both tend to lose the required dark mulberry head gear especially in the male birds.

Lavender laced Isabella.
