Did for years, sold the last of them the second my middle son decided he did not want to show them anymore. Of all teh breeds and varieties I have had over the years they were the hardest to raise.
I bought a pair for my son to show this Spring. They came from Ken Conaway. I was wanting to ask if they have a peak age when they're at their best. I've been told that OE's pullets are good before laying starts and males are around 9 months. Is it different with the Sebrights? I have no interest in breeding them. I can only give 100% to one breed, thats OE'S. LOL Thanks.

they are very similar in maturity levels as OE for show purposes, we did show a few of our hens and one cock well into thier 3rd and 4th years and continued to win with them. You want a very vertical wing carriage, upright body carriage, wide very pronounced breast. in order to maintain good lacing without getting to thick you will want to use moderate thickness on teh lacing of all teh birds, only breed from birds that show some black ticking on teh underside of the tail primary feathers. this helps maintian good lacing. They should be smaller and much more cobby than an OE but with well pronounced breast.
I have just acquired my 1st (Golden) Sebright hen. She's only a week old and came from a breeder.
I'm very excited to have her but I do have some concerns that she may not get along with my other chickens (all bantam breed hens). From what I've read the Sebrights can be aggressive and obnoxious toward other breeds. Has this been your experience or no?
You guys keep saying Sebrights are hen-feathered, whether a rooster or not, but I have a rooster Sebright right now on my farm and he has at least 3 long tail feathers much like our old roosters. When we bought him, he was NOT labeled as a Sebright, and put in a pen with a different kind of bantam entirely! He's got very clear Sebright feathers, and crown, but he isnt hen-feathered. Thinking he's a crossbreed of sorts? I wouldn't doubt it, as we have a couple of Rooster x French Guinea birds running around.
