I'm on a hunt for silkie eggs that can be shipped TOMORROW so I can set them Mon or Tues. If anyone has ANY (color unimportant, but looking for white especially) please let me know. I have Pekins, Runners & Calls I can swap eggs from, or Assorted LF layers covered by an EE roo.

This morning I remembered that I had some eggs that might be hatching around this time. I didn't mark the date I set them but when I candled them this past weekend they looked like they where getting close. So checked on them this morning and they where starting to pip. So should have a bunch of Blacks sex link chicks soon. I also candled the turkey eggs (I set mine last Friday). With all the speckles they are hard to see into, but I did see some definite veining in some of them. Yay!

went to turn some EO eggs yesterday.. opened up the bator as I normally do 5 times a day and saw pips and a few zipping.. had completely forgotten when they were due to hatch...

so I let them be.. woke up this morning to a bunch of chicks staring at me wanting to go to their brooder.

So... apparently our turkey hens are going crazy laying. Anybody interested in Pencilled Palm eggs? The 7 I popped into the incubator turned out all fertile save one, so the tom is definitely figuring out what to do .

Act like they are coming out and then rest in there like like like.... CHICKENS!
I est. 24 hrs from 7am and hope I have a surprise before then!
I saw the pip first 7am so I don't know when it pipped exactly. WAIT WAIT WAIT
I always get so excited with the first pips!

I wish I could have ducks or bantams! My LF girls beat the tar out of anything smaller than them though . If I didn't love jumbo eggs so much, I'd kick their fluffy butts.

How about some EE then. I have a EE roo over RIR, BR, SLW, Delaware, Red Star, Tetra Tint & Australorp hens.
