So I was thinking we should have a Poultry in Action picture contest. All types of poultry in any kind of action(as long as the birds arent intentionally being compromised of forced into action for the pic). Thoughts?

Id Love to take one of my roo Patrone but he only has one Action besides resting from it LMAO

here is my Barred Rocks egg for size difference added other eggs Bantam egg, Bantam egg, Reg LG Barred Rock egg, turkey egg, Abnormally large Barred Rock egg Barred Rock eggs from 2 dif hens

Holy cow! Is there an egg inside that egg? I saw on you tube an egg like that & when they cracked it, there were 2 yolks & another egg inside! Yikes! Poor hen

Gave my rooster a shot of Tylan. He's still going, but his comb is turning black. I don't expect him to last much longer. He is quarantined away from all other chooks.

As if I hadn't had enough yet, one of my Flarry Eye chicks died today. There were only 2 in the brooder cuz the other brooder is full of chicks that are 2 weeks older. Now I'm left with one chick in that brooder & she's peeping loudly. It is warm enough so I was thinking she's lonely? Too late to "borrow" a chick from my neighbor (I'll ask tomorrow), but for tonight, I just put in a clean feather duster. What else can I do?

Have you had your Water tested ? Just a thought but there are a lot of things going on in california that may be the cause of the Losses with out Fault of your own .

YEA!!!! I love it when my eggs do better for others than for me!!! (course might have something to do with shipping the fresh ones and setting old ones myself....)

Me too. I didn't set many this hatch and only turkeys with chickens hatching here and there, but if I ship them out, they hatch. If I set them, I'm lucky if I get one sometimes. All and all, I'd rather have bad hatches and have my eggs do great for other people. So far so good.

hello! just saw this and since i have turkey eggs incubating I thought I would jump in. I did not set on the right day, but will have lots of turkeys comming from now until the first week of June. this is my first time hatching. the first batch just hatched over the weekend. and I got 20 out of 28 eggs hatched. next batch goes on lock down in two days. that batch is 60 eggs. I also have a batch of 107 started on 4/10 and 104 on 4/20. I will start three more batches of 100+ over the next couple weeks.

the eggs are from red burbon, slate, and Narragansett hens with burbon toms.

I have been having such rotten luck with people on CL lately saying they want chicks and then flaking out. I hatched some blue/black sex link chicks (which I put pictures up here) and I had a lady say she wanted them but couldn't get them until the weekend (it was like a Tuesday). So I said I would hold them for her and come Friday she says her plans have changed and she can't get them. She was asking about shipping but I really don't want to go through all that work for 10 chicks. So I contact a guy who said he wanted them and and then after we started getting things set up for him to come out he just stops contacting me. Then yesterday a lady says she is coming at 4 to pick up the chicks. So at 4 I get an email saying she can't find my street. I email her back asking where she is at and right after that I send another email with my phone #. She was only 5 miles from my house but instead of trying to figure out where I am at she goes home. So frustrating!
