Sorry, kids must be over the age of 25.

I know....sad huh. I really want some, I have heard wonderful things about them. But I would hatch them, and fall in love and then I would be in trouble.

Oh, you say that while they're young, cute and curious creatures, but then they grow up and become a bunch of teenagers.

And after a couple months of a multitude of dances, forays, invasions and all out war (with each other) you'll be ready to thin the flock.

And I like mine better as adults. They're slightly less stupid. I no longer have to get them down from the fence or the compost pile or the duck house... anywhere but where they're supposed to roost. And because they're big and strong, if I don't get it right I then have to chase them down to get them caught again to go back to the coop so they don't become dinner for a fox or a coon.

Now they go to bed on their own and roost with the chickens. I like that much, much better.

I am looking for auburn eggs.

THese are rare apparently and I need a few girls. I have 11, yes eleven, toms.

I know Porters sells Aburn poults.. they USED to sell hatching eggs.. so you may want to contact them

I have a couple Auburns from them.. no idea what their eggs would be crossed with though (assuming any of their eggs are being sat on at the moment) since I have a mixed flock of purebreds right now... and the boys don't care what color the girls are when they are "in the mood"...

Mine are from Porter's too, Didn't think of them for eggs. Might be worth an email.

Did get my first Sweetgrass egg today. WHOOOT. THere I faired better, 3 hens and 1 tom. Only recently segregated them so not sure what I want to do with the eggs. Might just hold them until set day. .
