**~~>>Second Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatchathon<<~~**all poultry welcome!

I have a game hen who's only laid three eggs in her whole entire life and would rather be broody and sit in the nest box all day than lay eggs, given she does have a hip problem but I can put her up in our brood box and put some eggs in and she'll set them with no problem. Haven't had a hatch off her due to a rooster eating eggs. But now she's seperated and sitting on four eggs quite happily. :)

UPDATE: 4 out of 6 duck eggs got nice development 2 I can't really see to well in due to loose aircells and one is porous. The turkey egg' aircell has reattached nicely but its to dark to see into due to all the speckles!! Lol. I'll candle again when I go to place them in the turner saturday. That'll give them 8 days without being turned. Hopefully I get a decent hatch rate. *crosses fingers*

And a little bit of humor to lighten the mood. I entered Crossy in the Celeb Look Alike Contest for one of the hatchalongs:

I think it's a dandy likeness.

Quote: I had a friend make a fertility totem for a broodmare when she was being bred-- it worked. Foal looked just like the baby drawn on the top!!

It seems my midget white hen might want to go broody just in time for this hatch! Any tips on dealing with a broody turkey, also I will need to move her, she can't have the corner of the goat barn during kidding season. She's sitting on her egg, a couple of chicken eggs, and a couple of Titleist, I sure hope the Titleiest hatch! If I can move her, I'll give her a few of her eggs back, and hope for the best.
I've never moved the girls, so I"m no help there. I did find a broodie in a horse stall, after I had been putting the mare in after dark! Eeks. I continued to put the mare in as the mare was careful and the hen had built the nest in a corner. Fo those that don't know horses, horses rarely step into a corner ; tha would require a big backwards step. Buff Orpington hatched a good number of chicks from the PILE under her.
