There are fertile eggs all over the place around here

I had a special delivery today... 75 quail eggs!! now I just have to figure out how to fit them in the bator.. excited.. haven't had these since I was a kid!

Whqat a terrible problem to have . . .

Candled a bit today...looks like I may get a couple of chicks out of the scores of eggs that I had set just prior to Easter which suffered the 12+ hours of 112*. I'll get my hopes up when I see a pip.

Most of the eggs I set with my turkey eggs are looking good, but it looks like my turkey eggs were only fertile from about a week prior to setting, so 3 dozen are clear out of the 4 dozen I set. It's okay, because I really don't need 48 poults!! I do have more eggs now, and I'm going to put up an auction for them.

I've also got sudden good production in the rest of my pens, so I'll be putting up auctions like mad for all of my other stuff, and I'm going to have to finally put up a sale page on my website since it looks like I'll have hundreds of chicks soon...Whee!!!!

I'm losing my mind here. I can't find fertile eggs anywhere.

I pulled six eggs from my flock supply: three LF, one medium sized, and two bantam, all six green. They will be one-on-one tutors for my six turkey eggs.

Of course it all depends on actual hatching. I know there's no doubt of fertility in my flock. When I gathered eggs this morning, one of my Milkie pullets (BCM/Silkie mix) is squiring nine brand new chicks.

I plan to candle my cdh eggs tonight I have 11 turkey eggs. I also have my first batch ever of turkey eggs and marans eggs going into lockdown on wed, Im so excited

. However I just used my last open brooder for the ducklings. I guess I need to get brooder num 5 together quick or empty a brooder fast

I was getting that all winter. My eggs hatched great for everyone but me. But I know what my problem was. We are remodeling the house & have walls out upstairs so temps were fluctuating by 30F or more in a 12 hr period between day & night. We had 4 heaters & the furnace running & still couldn't keep temps stable in the house. They are hatching much better now that it has warmed up outside & temp inside are more stable.

Nothing like that here. I just don't get it. It's got to be something I've forgotten after months with no eggs. I get ok hatches, small hatched and no hatches. I can't get a good hatch. I candled and had several quiters and couldn't see much at all in the Marans eggs, but something should be hatching! I still have 61 eggs left in there doing nothing. Some are iffy, but others were fine at candling. So frustrated right now. It's happening in 2 LGs and the Sportsman! I need chicks for me and some to sell, but at this rate????? I'm also getting backed up with eggs again, but my Marans are loose while I repair their pen and they keep laying under my broody SPPR and smashing eggs. But my penned birds are fine. I've got lots of eggs to sell, since no room, but if I can't get a desent hatch, I shouldn't even be trying to hatch on my own. I was doing so good again!

I have room for another 59 eggs. I had 5 duck eggs in the bator, but I had to toss 4 of them. I have bad luck with ducks.

Raz-- the white eggs are leghorns which are the very good layers; the darks are IDK but are sure to be excellent layers. I can't get fertile eggs here. I tried looking at several likely stores, nada.

sounds like bacterial issues.. when was the last time you disassembled and completely cleaned the bators with 10% bleach solution or Oxine?

if it was recent then my next guess would be carbon dioxide poisoning

I think only one turkey egg is developing... but it's too soon to be sure.

I put in 6 tutors today that I got from a local girl... and I hatched out 3 SS.
