**~~>>Second Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatchathon<<~~**all poultry welcome!

Hi everyone! I did not set any eggs so I don't think I can officially join this hatchathon but is it okay if I just follow along to learn as much as I can? I will be like a sponge. Just quietly soaking up all the information!

Please, go vote again and make sure to follow the instructions on numbers of votes.....
I can't believe the poetry contest is over. Didn't it just start? Ack, I'm always a day late. Well I've got one anyways. Here goes:

If wishes were chicks,
then chicks there would be.
One chick or two,
two chicks, no three.
The brooder would fill,
and the coops would be brimming.
Feeders would need filling,
and wings would need trimming.
I do not need wishing,
However they're free.
I have bred with abandon,
Hatched with great glee.
My property overflowing,
With hens and with roos.
My basement, bedroom, and even the loo.
So I will just save those wishes for later.
And head to the budoir,
To check the incubator.

Glad I'm not the only one who is self distructive.

Rotten egg smell = white vinegar! Stat!.... I had birds lating in weird spots last year and my grand daughter didn't see one and stepped on it. We found a nest of old eggs that someone had given up on. Took 3 onths to get the smell out o fher boots. By the time the smell cleared it was summer and her feet had grown. I left those things on the patio where we couldn't smell them and then one day I grabbed while vinegar to finish getting rid of it. Which I should have done at once, but I just couldn't stomach it. LOL
X2. Vinegar is the best odor neutralizer!

very good! I love it!

Thanks for all the suggestions on splitting turkeys. ;) I had quotes, but they went poof!

On the bourbon's I got today, I don't usually candle eggs before I set them. Good thing I did, one of them was growing ewwwwwy stuff. It was the smallest egg too. The air cells on the others all look good.

Poults make the cutest peeps, chitters, and twittles. I love them. They seem to have the hang of eating, been pigging out at the food bar all day. LOL

Got some photos of my Aussies today, thought I'd share.

This is DeBakey, the 10 month old pup. She's really starting to look like a big dog, now.

This is Monet, 1 1/2 years, so pretty.

and this is Miss Riley, grandma to Monet, great aunt to DeBakey, looking pretty good for 10 1/2 years old.

The girls will all be headed down to St. Louis for the week to the USASA Nationals at Purina Farms. Riley is stoked to get to be a show dog again, she's entered in 10 and over veterans.

I am Roocutus - of Borg. Resistance -is futile. Your flock, as it has been - is over. From this time forward, you will feed - us.

That is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time!!!! Maybe because I just saw this rerun. I believe this has given me the inspiration design for the coop I have to build. This picture and this saying is going on it!!!! It will be known as the cube........

Now I just have to figure it out. Chickies are due on the 29th. I am so out of time.

Okay I give up! You all are too funny over here. If you will allow me to crash the party I would like to join.....

I have a hatch with Blue Egg Layers from the UofArkansas hatching today. I was checking on them and found Ducklings hatching in the second Genesis Incubator:

Blue Egg layers and a Bantam:
