**~~>>Second Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatchathon<<~~**all poultry welcome!

I know y'all have been dying to see the Extra Secure Long Sleeved Jacket made for me by SCG. I am not yet modeling it, but I certainly took photos of it and the lovely detail work. I had asked for paisley print - I think paisley is a nice touch for such a garment - and she obliged with a very nice "half-paisley" with tiny flowers in the background.

Announcing the winners of the
Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatchathon
Poultry Poetry Contest

First Place
Wisher1000

I will not choose a prize, afterall, I get to keep the ones that others don't choose!

I once had a hen that was broody.
She made the most foul smelling doodie.
Her eggs she kept warm
till all chicks were born,
and that would make anyone moody!

Second Place
Hurley

Hurley chose the Six pack of Eggs From ChooksChick

The Acrobatic Hen
There once was a little brown hen,
who wouldn't be kept in a pen.
She'd fly to the top,
do 3 flips and a flop,
and find herself free once again.

Third Place

Chiques chicks
Chiques chicks chose the Mystery box! I think he will be happy with it!

There once was a crazy old man,
Came up with a so simple plan.
He'd get a few chicks,
He thought just for kicks,
Now they're all over his land.

Fourth Place

Chickenpooplady
Chickenpooplady chose the Hen's choice Hatching Eggs from Wisher

There once was a rooster named Fred
He was not right in the head
He chased the hens
And wrecked the pens
But he sure did taste good with bread

Congratulations to all of our winners!

Thank you to all participants and those who helped us with the selection of winners by voting!

Second Annual Cinco De Mayo Turkey Hatch a long Digest 4-22-2013

Ceocka has had a horrible three days. After Oldest daughter won the talent competition and second over all, they found out that the incubator had overheated to 200 degrees. Lost 5 dozen eggs and chicks in the brooder too.

Some are hatching in the house…

Dsqard told us about liquid vitamins. Chicken pickin is looking for the correct niacin for the ducks and will get Turkey starter today.

JD4570 has a staggered hatch and is using a calendar to keep track of it. Lots of different breeds are developing too!

Large multi quotes appeared at the end of the day. This morning there was a request to edit them down for folks with phones and slow internet.

Yinepu posted that Brinsea incubators have been known to overheat like they were egg cookers and not incubators. Many are now in a landfill somewhere…..

HEChicken had 4 of 4 Poults hatch!

SilkieSensation reminded those incubating in closets to open the door to allow fresh air in once a day!

Wildriverswolf90 posted a candling report: 10 of 18 Turkey eggs pulled. 6 out of 30 chicken tutors were pulled.

ThaiDye’s kitty is feeling better! Shipped eggs are 50 gonners but the home eggs are good. Sadly a Rooster is sick. So much sickness leaves them feeling defeated.

Yinepu thinks bird crumble should have enough Niacin and vitamins. Watch the treats.

HEChicken has a Poult that is not doing well but may be doing better after brooding tucked into a shirt!

Chiques chicks had 4 clears out of 27 shipped Turkey eggs. There are a few questionable eggs in there…

Pele is about to lockdown eggs!

Manningjw posted a couple of candling pictures!

Yinepu posted a link to a chart for diagnosing waterfowl problems. http://www.majesticwaterfowl.org/diagnostic%20chart.htm

Karimw has 13 of 36 Turkey eggs left—the boys are fighting too much….

HEChicken told of how to change a setting to remove nested quotes from our quoted replies.

DURR’s incubator does not have a large enough heat source. Wonders if someone has converted a fridge into a bator?

Loghousemom is off to get Duck stuff today too.

Gryeyes posted the Straight Jacket pictures! They are amazing! Do not faint, but she candled too!
