Not that I'm happy you're a worry wart, but I do appreciate your sense of humor 
Whatever it was, it was back last night. Yep, roof was punched down...again. in about an hour we're going to go out and my left-brain husband has an idea on how to secure it. Our night camera should be here by Tuesday. Is it Tuesday yet??? I laced the cat food with Golden Marlrin and the bait in one trap was gone and it had been tripped, but whatever ate it was too small, or too smart and got away. Regarding raccoons, my days of driving Miss Daisy over the Wabash are over. I stand in your shadow of worry wartism about setting certain types of traps because of our precious dog, but a little Golden Marlrin with a shot of Mountain Dew is the most humane way for them to meet their demise.
