After years saying we would get chicken finally decided that we would. We converted an Shed and dog pen to an enclosed chicken coop. We had these chicken for about two years 13 in all until my wife said no more. We made the mistake in the beginning letting them roam as they pleased. This was great as baby chicks but once they became older they became more of mess makers than anything. Then with much regret we gave them to a friend who has lots of farm Pets.

It's about a year later and I miss the fresh eggs and the chickens. I would like to give it a second try. Wife insist I can't use same set up. I can use it if I want broiler chicken to raise for food but not long term chickens. So this time around we want to keep it small five to six chickens. I would like to design a coop where the housing part is up higher but opens up for easy cleaning and the chickens can climb down in an enclosed area. The thing is I would like this to be on wheels so we can move it around the yard every few days and bring it closer to the house in the winter months. I would also like something that can take the colder months here in the north east. If you have any advice or ideas I would love to hear them. i hoping to get this projector underway sooner than later as July will be here soon and I rather have chicken here before I he fall comes so they can adjust to the season change. This time I would also like to buy little bit older chickens that are about to or have started to lay eggs. Any recommendations in the South Jersey area would be helpful. I thank you for any advice you have to offer.
