Hi all... Newcomer here. We are putting up our coop for our 4 hens and 4 guineas in a couple weeks and just wondering if our plan to keep out diggers will work: we are going to take some old 18"x18" slate pavers and put them all around the base - basically sit the run on them so they stick out about a foot. Will that be as effective as burying wire? The birds will actually be free ranging after the first couple weeks but still need to keep them safe at night - coop sits over the run. Thanks!

Guess it depend on how determined your predators are. I think it would be good if coop was resting on the blocks. I think the more of the block you have out instead of inside would be better.

I have lots of field stone that I am going to surround my pen with about 2 feet wide. Hope it works.
