Seeking advice on training for tie down

Well apparently my dog doesnt really care if mommy goes missing. I set her outside tied to the fence and went about my business. She remained calm the whole time and took NO interest in the bone. When I let her off and back to the house she brought the bone on the porch and left it to snuggle next to me. This tells me that it wasnt because mommy was working outside...it was because mommy AND daddy were working outside. We will have to work on it with both of us. Then again...daddy does disappear for 8 hours a day...
My dog that has the separation anxiety stares out the window all day long if I am not home and my husband is home. He says it's the most pathetic thing ever. He will try to feed her and give her treats, she refuses everything. Then when I come home she's so excited, but then acts like my husband's best friend again :gigwhen I'm around she acts like she doesn't like me, but once I leave this house, her world is completely crushed.

My puppy Jolene will make me hold her if I've been gone longer than a couple hours and won't care about food or anything.

My husband says the whole house stops when I'm not around and they all stare out the window including him :lau I actually believe him

Just need more time to 'train' the husband! :gig
Glad to hear things are improving with your pup,
you've worked hard and it's paying off...slowly but surely.

He's un-trainable :gigI've tried several times to tell him "No...you have to make the good behavior a HUGE deal" and all she gets out of him is 1 good girl :th

Duchess is my best friend...UNTIL dad gets home. When her daddy gets home she forgets all about how to be a good girl. It takes about 5 minutes for her to completely calm down and listen. I've suggested that they take a class together but he doesn't want to. So I just gotta work with the behaviors I can. However most of them are not an issue when it's just me and her. I really am at a loss of how better to explain what she needs to him. :idunno

Mine are the exact same with my husband... Right now they are all laying down and behaving, they have done nothing bad at all. When my husband gets home it's like a circus circus:gigThey don't listen to him, but the instant I raise my voice they all sit. I have trained all mine from puppy on up, I'm definitely the pack leader here.

I'm definately the alpha here. I tell her to be nice and she will sit next to him and let him pet her. Then I get up to go to the bathroom or go in the other room and all I hear is "duchess! No! Down!" "Bark! Bark! Grr!" Then I yell "whats going on in there?" And its silent:lau

Dad's home and working on chainsawing a stump out in the yard. At first Duchess was just watching him like crazy. She ignored the bone entirely on the porch until I encouraged her to chew it. Now shes forgotten all about dad and is gnawing away at it. The bone is very messy so its going to strictly be her outdoor chew. She loves it a lot. A little too much. When I first tried to take it from her she bared her teeth. It took me several times for her to "leave it" then I practiced giving it back to her and having her leave it as well. I've had to do this with a lot of her treats but shes getting over it. She is no longer aggressive about her kibble
