Seeking comments on my 2-3 chicken coop design

i really would suggest getting more than 2 chickens. if that means building the coop a little bigger its worth it. they say 2 chickens per family member keeps the family with fresh eggs.

2 chickens maximum as main coop area is 2' x about 4'.
Make it longer if you can to gain coop space, especially I you have adverse weather or predator issues where they might need to confine them to the coop.

What do you plan for feeder and waterer? Need room for those too.

Not sure what your climate is like, but you need more ventilation...a lot more if you have high temps.
Consider making the those two access doors mesh with a solid panel that could be added if you have cold wind to deal with.
Temperatures range between 60F in the "winter" and 85F in the "summer". I live in a pretty urbanized area with no known predators. I've been considering the waterer under the coop and the feeder outside the coop.

That's a great idea about making the doors into mesh with maybe sliding panel covers. I'll look into that for v2.

It's just that I have limited space to put it. I could probably squeeze another foot or so longer, but that would only bring the square footage of the coop up to 10. I've been calculating 3-4 sq ft per chicken. The outdoor space where I will free range them is much larger (10' x 25') and they'll have access to that all day and night if they want.

Quote: Your birds will not go in the outside space at night if they have a good roost spot indoors. Once they go to sleep at night they are pretty much in a coma and don't move around, eat or drink until the sun comes up the next morning. Even if they don't like the indoor roost and find a place outdoor to roost they will remain in the same spot till morning.
