Seeking specific guidance: 14 week old hen injury, can't stand

This week, our Labradoodles both began exhibiting signs of stomach disorders, and our male, Jake, now is in the animal hospital with severe gastroenteritis. He is very, very sick. When I asked the vet, who also raises chickens, if the issue could be related to our sick chicken, she mentioned that the dogs' symptoms could point to salmonella from the chicken.

I choose to take no chances with the health of our dogs--or my family. In addition, God willing, Jake will be on the mend and all my nursing skills will focus on him in the coming days. So Miss Bree is gone.
