Selecting chicks at Feed Store

So what are your tips for selecting healthy chicks at the feed store?

You want to pick the chicks that are actively running around eating and drinking - do not take those that are hunched up, eyes closed, peeping and huddling, or with pasty butt. good luck in your selection.

When going into the unsexed bin for Barred Rocks and Black Australorps, do you have any tips on picking females.

I read the males will be running around bullying the others but you just said you want ones that are running around so that would seem to counter that idea
