Self Blue OEGB purchased at NEPC show

the color is not uncommon...quailty in that color is uncommon

Yes, I would not count on the quality being good at the sale, but thought it must be pretty common if they were showing up there.

There plenty of them around, you just got to watch for them,, when someone is selling, rather in eggs or chicks or full grown birds.

if you go to the the one oeg site, cant remember the site name, they are even showing large oeg fowl in some shows as well here in the USA.

If theres a breed that has self blue aka lavender your bound to find them if you look in the usa, sure its not easy. but nothing really is..just watch the breed sites to for what you are after..

You may or will not get perfect birds and thats were the fun of it all comes into play..perfecting what you can get..

I know how John B made his lavender ameraucana and most of what he used, he told me and Jody through emails how he did it using OEGBs and another breed. I'm very inspired by him and the others that built that color on an ameraucana some years ago when their project began..

Heres my mama Self Blue with her brood last summer.
Self Blues are very common in Ga. and you can get excellent quality birds for very little

There you will find ads of Breeders selling OEGB that may be able to help you.
