Self-Sufficiency and Living on the Bare

Yes, I remember you said during the flood you were glad to have so much food stored!

We were snowed in about the same time - a rare freak event for this area! - and were also grateful that we didn't have to worry about food or fuel. I did run out of chicken feed finally, but we had plenty of pasta and scrambled eggs to fill in

....backyard... goats?

My husband said he wanted a goat for the backyard and I told him no, he HAS to mow the lawn himself.

I'll add the goats once we get the little 2 acre we're getting in 6 months

...okay okay I might take a peek....

I have mini breeds of goats (4 Nigerian Dwarf & 4 Pygmy) & at this time, 1 zebu on my 2 acres.
Goats need a 'friend' so you would start with 2 & from there it's like chicken math. Maybe not, though, if you get 2 females or 2 wethers (or 1 of each). They are great creatures...you really need to check them out & do some research, especially if you're getting land soon!
I'd have MORE animals & chickens if I had more land. Check out my websites, in my signature.
