Selling baby chicks.

I sold 9... I think pure bred is probably the key to selling. And I think it would make more financial sense to sell eggs from your own hens. In doing so, you avoid paying for postage from other sources of eggs, and you can monitor fertility levels...
Just my thought..

Pure bred meaning that it is just one type of chicken rather than a mix?

Please make certain your city codes permit chickens before you start. it will save a lot of heartache later on!
What state is Avon in?

Amazingly, I posted to Craigslist my offer of 6 week old easter egger pullets and received 10 inquiries within 24 hours! I've already got two commitments to purchase!

I guess I could charge more... but I am only trying to make room in my coop for some difference breeds, so I'm asking $5 each. I succumbed to IDEAL Poultry's sepcial offer and now have more easter eggers than I really want...

It's nice to know that it is so easy to rehome chickens!

Easter Egger pullets? Is that a type of chicken? Sorry for the ridiculous questions!

I got a response on Craigslist already! they wanna know what type and how much. unfortunately I dont have an answer yet haha.

a good link to help you acquaint yourself with popular breeds, what they can be used for and egg laying...

before you plan on selling anything, you might want to develop a business plan with goals. that way you will be ready to go.

decide who your customers are, where will you find them, how will you advertise to them. find out what breeds are going to meet the needs of said customers.

find out what the laws/ordinances are regarding livestock, selling livestock, signage etc. save your head and heart before you dive in.

best wishes for success and fun!

you may not want to advertise a product you cannot deliver yet. it's a good way to cut your business very short. start smart.
