I don't know, but I seem to agree with Koakritters. There's nothing wrong with wanting your chicks to go to a good home and I think she's being very responsible in trying to ensure that.
When I volunteered for a cat adoption agency, they were trying to educate people who give their kittens/cats away to the fact that there are dog owners that will use kittens (or I guess even chickens) to teach their dogs to kill. (I'm sorry if I'm crossing a line about animal fights) So now I am very wary when someone comes across as Koakritters has spoke of. I think she is right to have a "red flag" intuition about these peoples' intentions. I know I wouldn't want any animal that I give away to someone who was going to treat them badly or not take care of them. So it takes a little more time and a little extra effort to find the right home, I think it's worth the peace of mind to people who need that peace of mine.
To Katydid2011...I'm so sorry about your dog, but let's hope that someone very kind adopted your dog from the animal shelter.
I think Nicole01 has a good idea, charge more for them.
Good luck!
