Selling Chicks on Craigslist?

I don't know, but I seem to agree with Koakritters. There's nothing wrong with wanting your chicks to go to a good home and I think she's being very responsible in trying to ensure that.

When I volunteered for a cat adoption agency, they were trying to educate people who give their kittens/cats away to the fact that there are dog owners that will use kittens (or I guess even chickens) to teach their dogs to kill. (I'm sorry if I'm crossing a line about animal fights) So now I am very wary when someone comes across as Koakritters has spoke of. I think she is right to have a "red flag" intuition about these peoples' intentions. I know I wouldn't want any animal that I give away to someone who was going to treat them badly or not take care of them. So it takes a little more time and a little extra effort to find the right home, I think it's worth the peace of mind to people who need that peace of mine.

To Katydid2011...I'm so sorry about your dog, but let's hope that someone very kind adopted your dog from the animal shelter.

I think Nicole01 has a good idea, charge more for them.

Good luck!

A Friends Father, whom is very wise once told me this "Sell Them and Forget Them"

We all want our animals, be it chickens, horses, dogs, cats, bunnies etc, to have a good life, but the simple fact is, once the money changes hands and the buyer leaves with that animal, you have "sold" your rights to it......

and you know to some people who have them a chicken is just a chicken. means to eggs or food for their family. Not every chicken lives in a fancy coop and eats the best food. some live in lean-to huts or whatever they can take for cover and free range and get some scratch once and a while. they are still healthy and happy birds.

I love my chickens. I take care of them.
but when they stop laying into the stew pot they will go.

when a group is starting to be Egg pickers? to craigslist they will go ( i don't have room for a mass slaughter in my freezer)

you have to let go if your going to sell anything ever. that nice girl may get tired of chickens and switch to boys and sell them where she found them (craigslist).
