Selling Eggs

How much do people usually sell their home fresh eggs for? I always give my bounties to my family and friends but for those who don't deserve such pleasantries... I always return the favor when everyone donates canning supplies (they always get the first jars and free refills) But what is a good ballpark figure for say a dozen, a half doz, or maybe 4 at a time. Thanks for your opinions as always.

it depends on where you live. I would check your local store, farmers marker, and even craigslist in the farm/garden section. It also depends on what you feed your birds as well, if you feed them organic feed you might be able to charge more than a run of the mill feed. I have seen some give discounts if you return the egg carton. Where I live I have seen them as cheap as $2 a doz up to $8 (but that was because it was free range certified organic).
